I had dearly hoped to see a male of the species when I visited Scotland, but all we got was a quick glimpse of a female, and quite distant at that.
You will definitely still be able to see it and get some great photos.
Would have to travel some distance into Scotland to see one of these. Great image of the male Sami.Regards...Pete.
Thanks Pete.
Beautiful bird ❤️ Great capture!
Thank you very much.
A majestic choice for a blog post. I'm eager to learn more about the western capercaillie through your eyes. It sounds like a fascinating subject.
The most beautiful bird in Finland. When searching for a partner, the bird is very aggressive. You should walk in the forest with caution so that the bird does not attack you.
Hello Sami, what a bird. Great photo!Regards,Roos
What a great bird - I've never seen one, but would really like to.Cheers - Stewart M, Wilsons Prom National Park, Victoria, Australia
The bird is truly magnificent and I always respect encounters.
